REDFISH events, who organised the first 10k run called the ‘Bowerhill Bomber’ last month, have presented the event’s proceeds to Melksham Carnival, totalling £500.
Runners from across the county and beyond took part in the charity 10k or 5k race at Bowerhill on Sunday 22nd July.
Redfish events have previously organised runs in Dilton Marsh, Westbury, and Warminster, and organised the inaugural Bowerhill Bomber for Melksham Carnival. They organisation raises money for worthy causes and donates all proceeds to charitable projects in the towns where the runs take place.
The Bowerhill Bomber cheque for £500 was donated to the chair of the carnival, Becky Burchell, and the committee, on Monday 6th August.
Tracey Hyde from Redfish events said, “The committee was shocked at the amount! They were only hoping for £250.”
Becky Burchell, chair of the carnival said, “The committee enjoyed helping out at the Bowerhill Bomber, it was well organised with a lot of positive feedback. We want to thank them for their very generous donation.”
Beth Dark, royalty guardian said, “We absolutely loved being involved in the Bowerhill Bomber and myself and Becky were nicknamed ‘the water angels’ which we love!
“It’s absolutely amazing to have raised so much money doing something which everyone put their heart and soul into. There will undoubtedly be more events linking Melksham Carnival and Redfish events as we are a winning team!”
