Messy Church Summer Fun ‘lived up to its name!’

Over a hundred children and parents came together for Messy Church Summer Fun, which certainly lived up to its name, a week filled with fun and messiness!

John Firth, of Good News Church reports, “Each day the children enjoyed stories about Bible characters like Moses, Ruth, David, Peter and Jesus, and then were able to express their take on the stories by all sorts of crafts and games, some of which, like foot painting, proved really, really messy!

“From building pyramids and sailing paper boats, to creating musical instruments and interesting things to eat, everybody had a whale of a time, though we never got round to Jonah.

“Some of the children tried their hand at acting and movie-making and some of their epics can be found on the “Messy Church Melksham” Facebook page.  Go and check out some of the stars of the future.

“As always at Messy Church there was time to eat together when families, some really new to Melksham, got to know one another really well.”

Hannah Tarring, who organises Melksham Messy Church said “It was just great to see families getting so involved and having so much fun.  This is what Messy Church is about.  I would like to thank our team of volunteers who worked so hard to make the week go so well, but also we want to thank everyone who came and really made it a week of Messy Church Summer Fun.”

Messy Church returns to its regular time and place at Forest and Sandridge School on Sunday 23rd September at 4.00pm.  Whether you are have been part of the Summer Fun week or just want to go and find out about Messy Church, they would love to see you there.
