Sports massage therapist, Sarah Pym, provides a range of treatments to help treat and prevent injuries in the sportsman, alongside rehabilitation treatments including stretching and strengthening programmes in both humans and horses.
Sarah has been qualified in equine sports massage since 2014, then expanded her business into human sports massage in 2018. Combining these together is great for any horse and rider combination both in just leisure riding and competitively.
Sarah also holds her level 4 advanced techniques certificate, which enables the use of trigger point therapy, k taping, hot and cold therapy, stretching, active release, and myo facia release as well as myo facia cupping.
Sarah said, “These methods are all extremely successful to release pain and tension, and work extremely well to complement therapies such as physio and chiropractic work.
“Sports massage is not only great for relieving pain from injuries or repetitive strains, but it will help to improve flexibility which helps with personal comfort and pain management, while preventing further injuries.
“My aim is to provide a quality and affordable service, this helps to encourage my clients to continue with regular treatments to help maintain their physical health.
“I started working from Serenity Wellness and Beauty in Melksham in late 2018. My business was growing and I felt a huge benefit to having a comfortable and spacious room, a huge benefit to my services.
“I work from Serenity Wellness and Beauty on a Thursday, with flexible hours to suit, school runs, shift workers and 9-5 workers. It is located above Dorothy House charity shop in Church Street, so it is a great central location within easy reach of parking.
“I receive regular positive feedback, even after a first treatment, not only personally but also on Facebook, which also helps with personal recommendations from clients to their friends and family.
“You don’t need to have a specific injury to benefit from a sports massage. All the techniques are there to help you maintain a supple and pain-free body.
“To keep my treatments affordable, I try to keep prices competitive at £45 for an hour, with clients often sent home with a sequence of stretching and strengthening exercises to rehabilitate and help prevent injuries from reoccurring.”
