FOLLOWING the Welcome Back market on 9th May; the Atworth Artisan Market returns on Sunday 13th June between 11-3 at The White Hart, Atworth.
The organisers explain, “The welcome back market attracted large numbers of visitors who used the opportunity to ‘shop local’ and support local artisans whilst enjoying great pub food and drink in the sunny courtyard ‘market place’.
“The June market will be even bigger, offering almost 50 different stalls featuring a mix of local food produce, art, flowers, gifts, jewellery, fabrics and a wide variety of crafts.
“The market encourages established local traders and also newer businesses or artists who want to grow their confidence, and can take a spot in the Old Coach House ‘pop-up shop’. Not to be missed.
“Each market raises funds for a different local charity and the June event will support both the Melksham Food Bank and the Lullaby Trust.”
Emma Roberts, market organiser, said “We are introducing a voluntary entry donation of £1 per adult this time so that we can raise funds for even more local causes; with this month focusing on the Melksham Food Bank.
Kirsty and Nathan Cortilla, our hosts at the White Hart Atworth, and the villagers routinely raise funds for the Food Bank and this provides an opportunity to do a little bit more whilst having a great day out.”
The market itself is a community venture, and makes no profit. The stall-holders are all asked to make a small donation to charity and this will go to the Lullaby Trust this month. This charity supports families affected by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Food and drink will be available from the pub as well as a BBQ and there will be lots of seating both outside and in the pub itself during the whole day.
To book a table for Sunday Roast contact Kirsty or Nathan on 01225 702274. Parking is available for visitors at the Atworth Industrial Park and drivers are asked to please park with care in the village.
