Could you help older peoples and carers have their say?

COULD you help share the opinions of older people and carers in Melksham with Wiltshire Council?

The Melksham Area Board’s ‘Older Peoples and Carers Champion for Melksham’ position is currently vacant. At the area board’s meeting on 22nd September, councillors agreed to invite expressions of interest for the role.

Community engagement manager, Peter Dunford said, “The postholder will be in regular contact with older people and carers across the Melksham community area and will represent their views to the Melksham Area Board and to Wiltshire Council. This is a voluntary role but with expenses paid.”

For further information please contact Peter Dunford on 07827 958303. Written expressions of interest and experience are invited to be made to peter.dunford@wiltshire.gov.uk by Friday 22 October 2021.

A special meeting of the Area Board in association with Age Friendly Melksham was also given the go ahead at the September meeting.

The event on 22nd October at the Assembly Hall will share the results of a recent Age Friendly Melksham Baseline Survey and will help draft a three-year plan to develop the ‘age friendliness’ of the Melksham community area.
