TAKE a trip down memory lane in 2022 with Andy York Photography’s new charity calendar.
The new calendar is packed full of images of Melksham throughout the decades, and is this year raising funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Couple, Andy and Christine York, told Melksham News, “The calendar is a selection of pictures from the Melksham Memories collection – which is available online at www.andyyorkphotography.co.uk – which also raises funds for the air ambulance.
“This time I have chosen mostly black and white photos that I have added spot colour too. And alongside the pictures I have chosen relevant old newspaper adverts from Melksham businesses from years gone by, and current ones including the Kings Arms, the Assembly Hall and Melksham Tyre Supplies.”
Some of the photos used from the Melksham Memories collection used for the calendar have been donated by local residents, and Andy and Christine are appealing for more photos to add to the collection.
“If anybody has more pictures of Melksham that they would like to add to the collection, we want to hear from you,” said the couple. “These are shared with the community and help to raise funds all year round for the air ambulance.
“We are currently trying to create a photographic timeline for each building in the town centre and all the businesses that have occupied them – so any photos would be greatly welcomed – it all helps. It’s surprising how many businesses have been in some of the buildings!
“Or if anyone has any information they would like to share – if they spot themselves or a relative in one our photos – and can add to our information about the picture, we’d like to hear from them. The information might not mean much to them, but it be a ‘gem’ to someone else.”
