Help in Holt at Christmas

Story posted on

HOLT residents are proudly determined that no member of their community should be left unloved this winter.

‘Help every Holt household have a Christmas’ is the message of ‘Help in Holt’ – the community campaign that aspires to leave no-one without the means to celebrate the season, by sharing a little seasonal kindness.

“It’s been a really tough couple of years” says Jenny Arkell on behalf of Help in Holt, “with friends and neighbours finding they have less money in their pockets and facing rocketing bills. For some there’ll be nothing left over and only a joyless Christmas and winter and no-one wants that to happen.

“Helping couldn’t be easier, and takes only a moment. Your donations of any sum, a pound or more, are warmly welcomed in cash or by bank transfer. And every penny collected will be gifted anonymously to neighbours, for whom even a small sum can make a big difference.

“Donations can help put food on someone’s table or a gift in a child’s stocking. Christmas is such a special time – it’s important that ALL our households have the chance to enjoy it.”

How to ‘Help in Holt’: Cash donations can be made at various locations in the village. BACS transfers can be made to the following account: St Katharine’s PCC of Holt. Sort code 30 98 75. Account number 01525597. Ref: Help In Holt

“Whatever you give, you are a Holt hero,” says Jenny. “Help In Holt also has excellent links with the Food Bank at The Hub in Bradford and can help in complete confidence if anyone needs this service. We can also help you check that you’re receiving benefits and other help you may be entitled to, again in complete confidence. If you need a hand in any way or would like to help Help In Holt please give us a ring. We’d love to hear from you.”
