All change at the pavilion in King George V Playing Field – have your say

Story posted on

THE future of the pavilion in King George V Playing Field is currently being considered and Melksham Town Council – who manage the building – want to hear your views.

“The pavilion has always generated a lot of community interest and we would like to gather thoughts from residents about any changes and improvements to the building and what it can offer the community,” says the council.

“A series of thought-provoking ideas have been created by NVB Architects and now residents are being asked for their suggestions.”

The information and online survey are on Melksham Town Council’s website at www.melksham-tc.gov.uk. The display boards and paper copies of the survey are also available at the Pavilion, the Campus and the Town Hall.

The deadline for responses is 30th September and for more information contact the town council on 01225 704187 or townhall@melksham-tc.gov.uk.

On reading comment via FB, there have been several people who have offered to help run a cafe from this building. It definitely needs to be a cafe, with the use of the on site toilet. Menu of sandwiches, JPs & fillings could be made to order, tea, coffee, soft drinks nothing too fancy.

Hillworth Park Devizes seems to work very well, with just one person running it in the main. Everyone I’ve spoken to are crying out for the same thing, even people from out of town want to spend time in our park, they complain there is not a cafe & toilet facilities to back it up, I have witnessed many children needing the toilet & not just for urine, how upsetting for the children & parents. The toilets in the car park near Waitrose are just too far away. Come on Melksham give the families what they need & want.
