The Riverside Centre – formerly Club – is opening its doors for cream teas on Saturday 3rd September – one of the days of the Melksham Food and River Festival.
The centre has been modernised and the cream teas are a chance to take a look at work that has been done.
“The hope is that, as the wonderful people of Melksham make their way to the festival, they can come and see how the Riverside Centre is being modernised, fit for the many returning activities and welcoming a number of new events,” said a spokesperson for the club, which is based along the Millennium Riverside Walk, SN12 6LP near the river bridge. The committee would also welcome comments and suggestions.
“Hiring the centre has been made easy, as the bookings are now ‘on line’; you can view the empty slots and plan your hire from the comfort of your home.
“The website is constantly changing to make it as attractive and inviting as possible.
“The centre is an ideal venue for regular events or for private hire. Situated just off Bath Road near the river with its well equipped kitchen facilities and disabled friendly access it can provide up to 60 persons with a perfect enjoyable venue.
“Currently the venue hosts the 60+club, WI, Melksham Seniors, a singing group, several dance groups and others. Several time periods are available for your group or celebration. Ring 01225 703650 or email mtage54@virginmedia.com for more details or visit https://theriverside.org.uk
“Whether you wish to hire a hall for a party, or have a group of senior citizens wishing to meet in a comfortable environment, to start a new club – the Riverside is a good place to begin – and end your search!”
