A LIVE music and family fun day will be held next week to raise money for two charities – RUHX (formerly RUH Forever Friends) and Wiltshire Mind.
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday 10th September at The Pilot in Bowerhill, from midday until late.
Organiser and local fundraiser, Tracie Winslow said, “I am organising the event as Wiltshire MIND and RUHX are charities close to my heart.
“It’s a live music event and family funday. It starts at midday and goes on until we close. I’ve got several local singers and bands performing. We also have the Tandoori G food van and a raffle. We have glitter tattoos, a tombola and a children’s tombola, water and wine stall and many others. It’s always a fabulous event with a great atmosphere.
“I’m also holding an auction online, on the Facebook event page. We have some amazing items to bid on, from weekends away at caravan sites, hire of a flower arch or balloon arch, photo shoots, beauty vouchers, days out, alcohol and so much more! The online auction closes at 7pm Sunday 11th September, so plenty of time to get your bids in!”

“My friend Nic Robertson, died of cervical cancer 10 years ago and I’d promised her I would continue to raise money in her memory,” continued Tracie.
“Wiltshire MIND is such an important charity. Mental health is at an all-time high, especially because of the pandemic. I feel everyone should have someone to talk to. I’m not ashamed to say I suffer with my mental health; luckily, I have family and friends who support me, but some people don’t have that.
“In the ten years I have been fundraising, I have raised around £15,000.
“This is my third year at The Pilot. Sam and James Ponsford there have been amazing, along with their staff, giving me so much support and letting me take over their pub!
“I have some amazing friends who help me so much, I couldn’t do it without them, especially Paul Winslow, Lisa Caine, Chloe Brewer and Sarah Cook. From start to finish, they go above and beyond to make the day special. So many people give their time for free, all the live music I’ve had are just incredible. There’s a lot of kind people out there with big hearts. Last year we raised £4,240 to share between the two charities.”
