Up to £50,000 has been awarded by Wiltshire Council to spend on flood prevention in Beanacre after many homes in the village have had to fight rising water levels in the past few years.
Independent Wiltshire Councillor Terry Chivers has welcomed the news. He said, “This is great news, flooding in the village is a big issue and Westlands Lane was under several feet of water last Christmas. The parish council has formed a flood working group; we now have a flood plan in place. This £50,000 is the icing on the cake. Over the next few weeks I would hope that local residents and the parish council will be working with Wiltshire Council on how this money is best spent.”
The flood working group will meet on Sat. 14th July.
