THERE’S so much entertainment lined up at Melksham Assembly it’s hard to keep up! Luckily, we’ve got a run down of the big names scheduled to appear in the next few weeks.
On Thursday 27th October, award-winning American comedian Rich Hall brings his nationwide tour to Melksham. Rich’s critically acclaimed grouchy, deadpan style has established him as a master of absurdist irony and the king of rapid-fire wit. Tickets cost £16
On Friday 18th November, the Jersey Boys tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons show Sherry Baby’s stops off at the Assembly Hall. With spectacular performances of all their hits including Rag Doll, Walk Like A Man, Sherry Baby, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Workin’ My Way Back To You and more, this show is sure to have you out of your seat and dancing in the aisles! Tickets cost £20.
Don’t miss The Searchers live in concert at Melksham Assembly Hall on Tuesday 22nd November – as their remarkable career continues. With such classic hits as, Sweets For My Sweet; Needles and Pins; Don’t Throw Your Love Away; Sugar and Spice and When You Walk In The Room, they boast total record sales well in excess of 50 million and still have great appeal to audiences of all ages.
Their special ‘solo’ concert is a highly entertaining show and has been enthusiastically and warmly received throughout the world. Combined with anecdotes and reminiscences, this fully self-contained concert includes all their famous hits, plus many album recordings, B-sides and a selection of other collector and well known favourites. Tickets cost £20.
Dig out your tartan flares for an evening with Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers on 24th November, performing all the original hits including Bye Bye Baby, Shang-a-Lang, Remember, All Of Me, Summerlove Sensation, Give A Little Love, plus many more.
The current Bay City Rollers bring a new energy to all the classic hits and will have you dancing in the aisles. Tickets cost £22.50.
On Thursday 8th December, comedian Mark Steel brings his newest stand up show, Who Do I Think I Am to the Assembly Hall.
Previously, Mark has written and presented Mark Steel’s In Town on BBC Radio 4 and toured it live around the UK. Mark has presented the BAFTA nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC2, is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News For You and Radio 4’s Newsquiz. He’s also appeared on BBC2’s QI and Room 101.
Mark has also written several, acclaimed books, including: Reasons To Be Cheerful and What’s Going On and he writes a weekly column for The Independent for which he won Columnist of the Year at the Press Awards in 2015. His latest show is a surprising and enthralling story told with aplomb. Tickets cost £15.
