NEW sections have been started at Shaw School to give young people from the area an opportunity to join Scouting.
24 Beavers and 10 Cubs made their Scout Promise, were presented with their scarves and were invested into their sections on Thursday 10th May. There are four lodges in the Beavers and two sixes in the Cubs. Leading the sections are three leaders and six section assistants, plus a parent on the executive committee.
The sections are a satellite of the 1st Bowerhill Scout Group and members of the district team DC Chris Broom as ADC Beavers Anne Cranham have been mentoring the sections over the past few months.
Christine Broom, district commissioner/ training advisor for the Wiltshire West Scout District said, “It is very exciting times with inspiring programmes, amazing leaders and volunteers with an abundance of youth involvement.
“The Beaver colony is full and we are taking names on their waiting list; the Cub section has vacancies. For more details and to join the adventure please contact either Craig Murray cjbmurray@live.co.uk Beavers or Any Asquith andy jasquith@gmail.com Cubs.
