At our June meeting we discussed various events coming up.
Sports week is in September; we could try our hand at clay pigeon shooting, bowls, croquet. archery, Zimba Gold or even golf.
We continue to visit Mavern House and this month helped some residents to make wild flower arrangements.
We sold cakes at the village fair, many thanks to all who made and bought cakes, we were well supported and had a successful day. Thanks also to the Caws committee for organising the event.
Our speaker this month was Cathy Berry from Melksham Historical Association. She took us on a trip from Shaw & Whitley to Melksham Market Place. My, how Melksham has changed from pre-Shurnhold days and before the bypass was built. It was a very entertaining evening, enjoyed by members and guests.
We have a garden visit organised to Duck Farm, Wingfield, later this month.
The speaker for July is from Julia House, the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice; we have been invited to visit later in the year.
