Following the recent announcement of the proposed closure of St Damian’s surgery, Spa Medical Centre has announced that the surgery is suspending all new registrations with immediate effect, until the end of March.
The surgery says they made the decision following discussions held with their neighbouring practices and the Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
Dr Rob Matthews, senior partner at Spa Medical Centre stated that protecting the quality and safety of the services on offer is the top priority for the practice and the suspension has been put in place to enable Spa to maintain and improve GP access, in the best interests of both staff and patients.
Services will continue to be available at St Damian’s surgery until the end of the year whilst the consultation period continues and Gifford’s surgery remains open to new patients.
