MELKSHAM Assembly Hall has announced that it is set to host another series of top-quality live events.
Comedian Andy Parsons, world renowned psychic medium Derek Acorah and a screening of Andre Rieu all the way from Maastricht, Holland are all planned in the coming weeks.
Andre Rieu kicks-off the upcoming live events on Sunday 14th July when his open air concert with his Johann Strauss orchestra is set to be shown at Assembly Hall.
The show is one the best-selling live acts in the world, and he is one of the world’s top earning male musician in terms of ticket sales. Every year Andre performs his live shows in front of thousands of fans set amongst the beautiful medieval backdrop of his home town of Maastricht in Holland.
As always, André is joined by his famous Johann Strauss Orchestra, his sopranos, tenors and some very special guests.
The Maastricht concerts are André’s most popular concerts of the year with his most dedicated fans flying from all over the world to see this incredible event live.
“If you can’t join us in Maastricht, we will come to you,” said André. “It is going to be a magical event with some very special guests. Come and enjoy the music on the big screen.”
Assembly Hall manager, Cameron Scott, told Melksham News, “It’s fantastic that people can come and see this fabulous show on the big screen here in our Assembly Hall.
“We aim to receive the broadcast live from Maastricht and then show it on the following evening on 14th July. The effect should be spectacular and it’s fantastic that our community will have the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful experience”.
The following live event is on Wednesday 18th September when Derek Acorah will bring his ‘Eternal Spirits’ tour. Derek is arguably the country’s most renowned spirit medium, having demonstrated to many hundreds of thousands of people in theatres throughout the UK over his 25 year career.
His TV career includes his own shows such as ‘Most Haunted’ and ‘Derek Acorah’s Ghost Towns.’ He has also appeared on many TV shows such as ‘Dr. Who’, ‘This Morning’, ‘The Weakest Link’, ‘Richard & Judy’, ‘Vroom Vroom’, ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’, ‘Alan Carr’s Celebrity Big Bang’, and ‘Paul O’Grady’ and in 1994 Derek received the Variety Club of Great Britain’s Multichannel TV Personality of the Year Award.
The third live event planned is on Friday 4th October when the brilliant Andy Parsons is set to play the Assembly Hall.
Andy has enjoyed huge success as a writer and performer on television and radio, as well as on stage. He was a main writer on the original Spitting Image, is a regular on Mock the Week (BBC2) and has made regular TV appearances on, amongst others, QI, The Politics Show, Newsnight, Saturday Live and Live at the Apollo.
To date Andy has undertaken three sell-out national tours and in 2009 released his debut DVD ‘Britain’s Got Idiots’, followed up by ‘Gruntled’ in 2011.
