BLENHEIM House has begun welcoming back visitors to the care home following government guidance.
The home has created two separate areas in its gardens for outdoor visits and is preparing to open a new space inside the home for indoor visits.
The home reports, “Blenheim House has begun to conduct, socially distanced and safe garden visits and are hopeful to launch their new, all-weather, indoor visiting room in the next week.
We have a dedicated visit co-ordinator within the home who will ensure the facilitation of a safe, socially distanced visit for all and that all required protocols and health assessments are followed and completed prior to a visit. All visits must be pre-booked and by appointment only.
Outdoor visits are hosted in two separate areas called ‘Roses’ and ‘Lavender’, which have been created by staff led by home manager, Mirko.
The home said, “We’ve dressed both areas in ribbons and bunting to celebrate these much-anticipated occasions for our wonderful residents and their families.”
One visiting relative, Annette, said, “A huge thank you to Steve and Debbie for making my visit to my mum so special yesterday. I still cried but it truly was an enjoyable experience. I am always aware when my mum is both comfortable and happy with people and she certainly was yesterday! I know how fond she is of them both. Thank you, Steve and the lovely Debbie, as always, a superstar.”
About how staff and residents have managed during lockdown, the home said, “The fabulous team at Blenheim have continued with their huge passion, hard work and dedication to continue to stimulate and engage residents, bringing huge fun and happiness.
“To highlight – the team have been so innovative with their activities, from VE celebrations to using our virtual reality headsets to take the residents to the seaside, on safari and reliving some of their memories.
“We are currently in the middle of their unique “Be more Festival” to bring a week of unique activities for residents and the team alike within the home!”
