LOCAL Guides and Brownies returned to Atworth church on Sunday 16th February to celebrate Thinking Day.
It was a special celebration this year because the National Brownie movement is 100 years old and the Atworth Guides are celebrating their 60th anniversary.
Everyone met in the church hall for birthday cake before the girls and their leaders processed into a packed church and presented their colours before renewing their promise, together with ex Guides and ex Scouts in the congregation.
It’s usual for guides and brownies to play games and this Sunday was no exception as a game of ‘pass the parcel’ was used to reveal the different elements of the promise.
