STAFF and customers of local pub, the Pig and Whistle, raised £675 to purchase a new mobility scooter for one of the pub’s regulars.
The money raised at a charity bingo night last month, meant that the pub could buy John Parnell a new scooter, and have money left over to help maintain it.
Pig and Whistle staff member, Annie Robson, said, “Well what can we say, we cannot express how overwhelmed we are with the community support for this event. We raised £675 for our local John’s mobility scooter and will have a little left over to maintain it. Thank you to everyone who donated and played, it means so much. There were a few tears on this magical event.”
