THE TransWilts ‘Ramble and Rail’ event took place last month.
The free event saw participants ‘ramble’ across 7.5 miles of countryside between Melksham and Trowbridge, before catching the train back to Melksham.
TransWilts community rail office, Sophie Martin, reports, “We met at the Melksham Hub Café for a free drink and piece of cake. We set off across the fields to Packhorse Bridge, on to Whaddon, joining the canal near Staverton then along the canal to Trowbridge and on to the station by the railway line. Returning by rail to Melksham.
“It was a wonderful day out for all. Please get in touch with me on sophie@transwilts.org if you would be interested in joining us on future trips.”
