THE former Lloyds Bank building in the town centre remains empty, nearly one year after closing, as the estate agent continues to look for a commercial tenant to occupy the space.
Lloyds Bank in the Market Place closed on 15th February last year, as the bank reported a decline in customers using the branch. The closure marked the end of an era for the town, as it was the last bank to close.
Hootons, the commercial property specialists based in Bristol who lease the building said, “Things have gone very quiet. We did have some interest initially but it has gone quiet again now. It’s a very specialist building. The Lloyds Bank lease didn’t end that long ago. We are still marketing it and still looking for a commercial tenant to take it on.”
