A NEW treasurer is needed to join the committee at Bowerhill Village Hall to take on the finance and accounts, following the resignation of the existing volunteer.
Giving a description of what the role entails, secretary Christine Broom said, “The banking is all online with Lloyds and requires two out of three signatories for payments. Most is by direct debit and our users all pay by bank transfer.
“We have two employed cleaners who are paid monthly. This is all done through QuickBooks and HMRC. All systems are in place and there will be a thorough handover from the retiring treasurer with ongoing support from the officers of the committee.
“We have bi-monthly meetings when the treasurer gives a report on the balances in the bank. We have an annual general meeting when the accounts are prepared ready to be audited. We are a friendly community-minded group, basic computer literacy and knowledge of accounting would be useful but not essential as full training will be given.”
