A KNITTING group celebrated a decade of crafting and friendship this month, after they first met back in March 2014.
Crazy About Knitting, which runs at the Baptist Church, Old Broughton Road, celebrated the milestone on Wednesday 6th March. “We had a beautiful cake made by one of our members, Amy,” says a member of the group, Bev Viveash.
“We are a friendly group where we get together and knit, crochet and chat once a month. We knit for local, national and international charities, some of these are The Royal United Hospital, Southmead Hospital, Operation Orphan, RNLI, Seafarers Mission, AgeUK Wiltshire and Melksham Police with knitted lap blankets, twiddlemuffs, teddies, blankets, hand puppets, hats, gloves and scarves. The members talents are endless.”
They get together on the first Wednesday of every month from 10am to 12pm and have a smaller group that meets on the first Thursday of the month from 6.45pm to 8.34pm. “On Thursday 7th March, it was the ninth anniversary of that session, so we celebrated again with more lovely cake made by Amy,” added Bev.
