A popular rock and roll band will return to Melksham later this month for a night of classic hits and dancing.
Colin Paul & The Persuaders will perform at Melksham Assembly Hall on Saturday 21st March as part of Melksham Rock ’n’ Roll Club’s regular programme.
Organiser Geoff Mitcham said, “This will be their 15th visit to the club and they are always very popular as they do a lot of Elvis and Billy Fury plus a lot of normal Rock ‘n’ Roll.”
The band were formed in 1995 and have spent 30 years performing late 50s and early 60s rock and roll across the UK and Europe. They are regulars on the UK rock and roll circuit, playing clubs, pubs, dance halls and theatres.
Their setlists feature jiving standards from the era alongside original material. The group are also known for their tribute show, A Tale of Two Kings, celebrating the music of Elvis Presley and Billy Fury, which has sold out theatres around the country.
DJ Tony Toye will also be playing on the night. Tickets cost £14 and are available in advance from Melksham Tourist Information Centre, via Ticketsource or on the door. For more information, call Geoff on 07779 330042 or email geoff@melkshamrockandroll.co.uk.
