MELKSHAM carnival butterfly princess, Grace Povey, will be chopping off her long locks to raise money for The Little Princess Trust, on August 17th.
7-year-old Grace has already raised £500 which will go towards making wigs for children who have lost their hair. The cost of making one wig is around £350. Grace will be donating 15 inches of her hair to the charity.
Grace said, “I am very nervous but also really excited. I hope to make someone very happy by giving them new hair after they’ve lost theirs due to illness.
“I have lots of hair, around 27 inches and if chopping some off can help make someone happy, then i’m glad to help.”
Grace’s mum, Michelle Brightwell said, “Thank you to the people who have already donated and said such lovely things to Grace.”
