There was a real buzz in the air on 19th June when W.I. members met at Cleeve House for afternoon tea to celebrate 100 years of Seend W.I. Smartly dressed and wearing hats as a nod to former times, members sat down to a delicious tea prepared by Miriam and her staff.
Seend WI report, “Cleeve House was where the inaugural meeting had been held 100 year ago, led by our first President. The hall was beautifully decorated with some of the bunting which W.I. members and friends had made, the rest to be displayed at the Seend fete in August.
“The room resounded to the sound of laughter and the tinkling of tea cups, the very essence of W.I. for the last century.”
