CARNIVAL royalty were invited to judge this year’s Easter bonnet competition at Forest Community Centre on Good Friday.
The Forest Community Centre Easter egg hunt and Easter bonnet competition was held on Good Friday, to a sold out crowd. The Melksham carnival royalty were invited to judge the Easter bonnets and one boy and one girl were chosen and awarded a prize.
Princess Abbie Dark said, “It was really difficult to choose from the spectacular range of hats!”
Queen Naomi Jeffries said, “You could tell how much work had gone into the hats, it was lovely to see.”
The winners of the competition were: Phoebe Adams, aged 3 1/2 years, and Lincoln Penfold, aged 10 1/2 months.
Beth Dark, royalty guardian said, “Every year Melksham Carnival royalty choose a business, person or organisation to award the royalty cup. This is the biggest trophy that carnival gives, and it was presented to Forest Community Centre (FCC) for always welcoming the royalty family and looking after them so beautifully.
“Congratulations to the entire team at FCC. We are very proud to have such a wonderful team of people with a huge amount of community spirit.”
