MELKSHAM & District Flower Arrangement Society welcomed South West Area President, Jo Jacobs and Mayor of Melksham Terri Welch and members and friends to the annual open meeting in the Assembly Hall.
National demonstrator and florist Andrew Lloyd came from Shropshire.
Society chairman for 2015, Rosalyn Clarke said, “His title was @The Magic of the Musicals’ and indeed he took us through a magical evening of beautiful flower arrangements beautifully enhanced by the music from the show he was depicting.
“We went from South Pacific and Bally High to My Fair Lady, Sunset Boulevard. Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera Ian’s favourite which he had seen 19 times. His wonderful flowers included orchids beautiful roses, lilies and blue delphiniums as well as exotic ferns and Anthuriums.
“The stage was a blaze with beautiful blooms and fantastic arrangements. These were raffled off and profits will go towards Wiltshire MIND the charity of the year. Sue Spurrier did a beautiful sphere of roses in the foyer which welcomed everyone to the evening.
“A splendid plant stall and chocolate tombola as well as other craft stalls were an added interest. Joyce Swanson the club president gave a vote of thanks.”
