The Millenium Mosaic in King George V Park is in need of some restoration.
Since its instillation in 2000 the Millenium Mosaic in the park has been exposed to successive winters and this has started to have an effect on the panels to the extent that a few have lost their original picture.
“What we urgently need is a group of people with some experience in mosaics and/or design to come forward and undertake a plan to restore and enhance the current display,” says local councillor Bruce Sanders.
“There are a lot of great ideas for extra panels such as poppy panels to commemorate WW1 that could be a schools project, but before we can do this we first need to get the Town Mosaic looking fantastic. So come along and get involved!!
“The Town Council have set aside a room at the Town Hall on Wednesday 9th July at 7pm for an interest meeting.”
