March at The Art House Cafe sees a local art group host an exhibition of their work.
Each month a different exhibition takes place at the cafe with St. Mary’s Hilperton Marsh Art Group taking centre stage in March. Their work includes a variety of work including watercolour, oils and pastels, and features many themes.
Louise Mockford from the group said, “For the whole month people can enjoy the artwork and even purchase anything they like. It’s an ideal opportunity for that unique gift and to support local artists.
“We find our group an immense source of encouragement, inspiration and friendship. We welcome new members to the group and perhaps you will be inspired to join your local art group?”

Have your chance to exhibit your artwork
Do you know how many artists, amateur and professional, there are in the local area?
Perhaps you would like to purchase an original painting or drawing as a gift or to keep for yourself? At the Art House Cafe they exhibit the work of local artists, changing the exhibition every month. They see a huge variety of work; watercolours, oils, acrylics and mixed media, drawings and photographs, textiles and enamels, all at affordable prices.
During February, March and April they are exhibiting the work of artists from three local groups: Omniart from Bulkington, St Mary’s Art Group from Hilperton and Lacock Art Group.
From May onwards they have booked three or four individual artists each month. AHC always look forward to the variety of styles and subjects the artists bring to their gallery.
Is your hobby painting or drawing, textile or mixed media art? If so, come along and see the work shown in their gallery and complete a “New Artist” form if you would like to take part in one of our monthly exhibitions. Not only would your artwork be seen, (and maybe purchased!) by customers in the cafe, but you would be helping local charities. All profits from the cafe and gallery are distributed to local charities by Melksham Rotary Club.
