THE Assembly Hall is preparing to reopen for ‘socially distant’ events at the end of October.
Doors will reopen for the first time in over six months on Friday 23rd October for an evening of spiritualism and mediumship, with one of the UK’s leading psychic mediums, Nikki Kitt.
The Assembly Hall will also screen the full, 144-minute cut of Stanley Kubrick’s epic horror masterpiece, The Shining, on the big screen on the eve of Halloween, Friday 30th October.
Assembly Hall staff have carried out a full risk assessment in preparation for the reopening and have ensured that correct procedures are in place to follow current Covid-19 legislation.
Hand sanitising stations, NHS Track & Trace, extensive cleans after events, and social distancing are some of the measures that will be taken to ensure that the Assembly Hall can reopen safely.
At a Melksham Town Council meeting earlier this month, concern was raised that the government’s “rule of six” would make it difficult for the Assembly Hall to reopen. However, town councillors resolved to continue exploring how the “community asset” could be used and made the most of, whilst still following government guidance.
