Last month two panes of glass in the new bus shelter in Atworth were deliberately smashed in.
Following this, a further six panes were recently smashed, leaving no glass at all. Please contact the local police on 101 if you think you may have any information on this.
Effie Gale-Sides, chairman, Atworth Parish Council said, “I am shocked and saddened by these acts of vandalism. Atworth is a lovely place to live in. It is very attractive and people here still care for one another. Vandalism has been extremely rare indeed. Those using this bus shelter include our elderly residents and those unable to afford their own vehicle. Now they have to put up with the discomfort of being unprotected from the harsh winds and torrential rain. It is hard to understand how someone could be so mean spirited and unkind in causing misery to others.”
