AVON Bowls Club hosted the annual match to raise funds for the benevolent fund for bowlers and their widows on Saturday 19th May.
The game was enjoyed by all of the 48 bowlers with the Bowls Wiltshire side winning by 136 shots to 99. The sum of £229.45 was raised by the bowlers.
Ken Bray of Avon Bowls Club said, “Special thanks must go to McCarthy & Stone for the generous raffle prizes, including a very welcome hamper.
“Thanks must also go to men’s captain of Avon, Malcolm Hole, for all his hard work preparing for the game and Shirley West and Sylvia Crabbe for preparing and serving a fantastic meal after the game.
“Thanks to the bar staff and other members who turned up to help. It was a good day, marvellous weather, with many friendships renewed and new ones made.”
