Lowden Garden Centre will be hosting an antiques valuation day next month to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The garden centre in Shaw will welcome special guest Kate Bliss, presenter of BBC programmes ‘Bargain Hunt’ and ‘Flog It!’ on Friday 23rd September from 10am to 3pm.
People will have the opportunity to get professional valuations for a fee of £3 per item or £5 for two, refreshments will be available.
Lowden’s Christopher Scott-Moody said, “Having worked for auctioneers Philips, Son & Neale in the 90s, I thought it would be great to contact former colleagues and Kate who have kindly agreed to offer their expertise for this very worthwhile cause.
“Most people are interested to find out the history and value of their treasured possessions, and this is an ideal opportunity to do that while raising money for Cancer Research.”
Lucy Walker, Cancer Research UK’s fundraising manager for Wiltshire said, “The garden centre has been working so hard with their preparation for the event; we really can’t thank them enough for their support.
“Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer. However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters without whom we would not be able to fund our research.”
