Melksham Motor Spares have been fundraising throughout 2015 to raise funds for Dorothy House after accepting a challenge to be one of 100 companies to raise £1,000 for the charity.
Fundraising events throughout the year have involved staff, customers and suppliers and have exceeded the company’s expectations by raising over £5,500. For their final fundraiser, staff are taking part in a ‘Treadmill Challenge’ at their Bowerhill shop. Taking place on Friday December 4th, the staff will be taking turns walking and running a total of 47 miles in 10 hours.
Financial director, Alison Cook said, “We chose this distance because the company is 47 years old. This is the final push to round off a fantastic year. After far exceeding our initial target of £1,000 we would love to now top £6,000 for such a worthy cause and we can’t thank everyone enough who has been involved and donated so far.”
Managing director, Phil Dodd added, “We hope people will pop in and say hello and support the staff, making it a fun event and giving people who donate the chance to take home some fun freebies and prizes too.”
Everyone is welcome to call in to support them at their Bowerhill shop between 8.30am and 5pm on Friday 4th December. Melksham Motor Spares also have a justgiving page set up for anyone wishing to donate; www.justgiving.com/Melksham-Motor-Spares-treadmillchallenge/
