PUPILS from Melksham Oak School have worked with pupils from Bowerhill Primary School to create a festive story.
Year seven and eight pupils at Melksham Oak visited year two pupils at Bowerhill Primary School to talk about Christmas and ideas about creating a festive story.
The Oak pupils then created the story before presenting it to the Bowerhill pupils later on in the day. Caiden Rose from Bowerhill and Georgia Gaskell from Melksham Oak were paired for the day and decided to come up with a festive story about what Caiden wanted for Christmas. Talking in the afternoon when Georgia returned with the story Caiden said, “It’s been really good having Georgia here, I have enjoyed it.”
Georgia echoed Caiden’s thoughts and said, “It has been really fun and to me it has meant a bit more as I used to attend this school, so it’s strange coming back and seeing all my old teachers. I remember being a pupil at Bowerhill and doing this, but now it’s great to return and work with Caiden. The whole experience has been valuable as it helps build relationships.”
James Coomber the key stage one leader at Bowerhill School said, “It has been absolutely fantastic. Everyone has got involved and made the most of the opportunity. The younger ones have been so excited and couldn’t wait for their friends from Melksham Oak to return.”
