THE Bowerhill Barkers raised nearly £600 last month at their coffee and cake morning.
The group is aiming to raise £55,000 – the lifetime cost of a guide dog – to enable them to name and sponsor a guide dog.
Group member, Caroline Fielding said, “We raised just under £300 at our cake and coffee morning on Saturday 13th July.
“Lisa, the community liaison officer from Asda came along and helped, and Asda has kindly matched all we raised, bringing our total raised to just under £600.”
On Saturday 3rd August, the White Hart pub in Atworth will be hosting a fun dog show to raise money for the group. The event will also feature live music and a barbecue. Registration for the dog show starts at 1pm – entry cost £2 per category. The fun and games start at 2pm and runs until 8pm.
