Broughton Gifford Bowls Club is holding an open day on Saturday 9th May from 11.00am. The event will give visitors a chance to have a go at bowls, meet other members and enjoy refreshments, whilst raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Formed in 1961, the small friendly club is set in the village of Broughton Gifford just behind The Bell on the Common public house.
The club’s open day this year is combined with Macmillan Cancer Support and for £2 a head you can try your hand at a game of bowls, have tea, coffee, biscuits or cake and plenty of advice on bowls. All the money raised on the day will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The organisers say, “Our open day gives you an opportunity to come along and see our club and try your hand at a game of bowls. We welcome new players both young and not so young, or if you are already a bowler thinking of changing clubs, new to the area or for any reason would like to give us a try, you would be welcome at Broughton Gifford.”
If you are interested, please go along on the day or contact Janet Richards, Club Secretary on 01225 708117 or E-mail Janet at janet.a.richards@blue yonder.co.uk for more information.
