OVER £2,100 was raised for local charity, Wiltshire Mind, at a recent evening with boxing legend Frank Bruno.
A total of £2,168 was raised via a charity auction, and donations made by audience members at the event in the Assembly Hall in October.
Promoter for the event, Martin Burnett, told Melksham News, “With his own personal experience of mental health, Frank likes to give back – especially to local charities like Wiltshire Mind linked to mental health. Frank said that he has never thought of himself as an ambassador for mental health, but this is now a new, and important, part of his life.
Chief executive of Wiltshire Mind, Carolyn Beale, said, “We are a self-funded mental health charity and we welcome fundraising like this to help support our services in Melksham and across Wiltshire. This is a fabulous amount and we thank all involved with the evening.”
