Muay Thai champion Danny Sergiu, recently took a points decision win over Bristol’s Tommy Jenkins into a toe to toe action boxing bout.
From the sound of the first bell Jenkins came out very aggressive, throwing big shots and keeping Sergiu busy with defence. From the second round the tables turned and Jenkins ended up fighting on the back foot, and in the third round, while his opponent was getting fatigued, Sergiu looked like he was just getting started.
Danny said, “It was a tough fight for several reasons. one of them was the fact that I didn’t know absolutely anything about my opponent, and I was actually training for a Muay Thai rematch for the European title I hold, only to find out a few weeks before the event that my opponent pulled out again, and they can only offer me this boxing fight.
“I think the biggest surprise was the fact that he turned up to the fight weighing almost two stones more than me. When I found out about the weight difference I didn’t make a big fuss, because I felt unstoppable that day. Everything was perfect, I was feeling fit and strong, I had over 30 supporters down with me and everything felt right.
“I would like to thank everyone that supported me all the way, from supporters and friends to my faithful sponsors: Team Breakthrough, Bad Boy Supplements, Melksham Scaffolding and Lee Tilley Carpentry.”
