A stunning redevelopment of the New Inn in Semington Road has transformed the pub into a modern contemporary pub and restaurant.
The £150,000 refit has seen a new restaurant extension, a new bar and bright modern new interior, a log fire, an outside garden, as well as sparkling new toilets.
“I think people will be very pleasantly surprised,” says experienced chef, Ronnie Carter, who runs the New Inn with his business partner, Terry Milne.
“The pub has been transformed and the changes have gone down really well; everyone has been overwhelmed; and it proved quite a shock to the locals.
“Take a look at Tripadvisor for some of the comments! We’ve had one person who’s been coming here all her life and couldn’t believe the changes. Another local, Hilary, who lives just down the road, we’ve taken on and has joined the team here.”
Ronnie and Terry have introduced a new menu with all home-cooked food.
“We’re proud to offer great food at value-for-money prices in a wonderful village pub with everything cooked fresh using locally sourced ingredients,” said Ronnie.
Gluten and dairy free and vegan options
“You can see our menus online which have vegetarian and vegan choices marked up, along with gluten-free and dairy-free options.
“Particular favourites are our Hunters Chicken, oven baked in a barbecue sauce with triple cooked chips; The New Inn pie of the week with buttered mash potato, fresh vegetables and homemade house gravy; and handmade vegan or vegetable loaf served with sautéed potatoes, fresh vegetables and vegan gravy.
“Our Sunday lunches with all the trimmings have proved very popular as word has spread and now booking is very much advised.
“Everything is home-made including our pies and lasagne; we don’t buy in packaged meals.”
The Christmas Festive menus have been launched and are available on the New Inn website including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Ale of the Week
at £2.40 a pint!
“We are a free house so can offer an excellent selection of local ales, beers, wines and spirits, including our New Inn Ale of the Week at just £2.40 a pint,” added Ronnie.
“We are introducing a range of new ideas including a Quiz Night on Mondays – come along and join in and get a bowl of our homemade meat/vegetarian chilli or a bowl of homemade fries absolutely free – an open mic night and live music – keep your eye on our website for details.
“We are also starting a ‘Silver Social’ which will include a Senior Citizens Lunch Menu starting on Monday 24th October. It’s fabulous value at £15.90 for a three course lunch which, like all our other meals is home-made and home-cooked!
“We have new disabled toilets and disabled access while dogs are welcome in certain area of the pub. We are also proud members of Melksham Pubwatch.
“Christening, weddings and celebrations of life are also catered for.”
