Two care workers from Brookside in Melksham have been recognised for their outstanding achievements and quality of care at a special awards ceremony held by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT).
The staff, along with three others from Wiltshire, were presented with their awards at the Trust’s 2014 Chairman’s Commendation Awards, which took place at Lincoln Cathedral’s Chapter House on 11th November. Esther Thomas, home manager from Brookside in Melksham and Marden Court in Calne, was awarded for her drive and passion to instill the Trust’s values within the homes, while ensuring the highest standards of care and service are always achieved.
Jamie Carter, head of care at Brookside in Melksham, also received an award for his motivation, loyalty and enthusiasm to take on new challenges. His commitment to being a positive role model for his colleagues is also second-to-none.
Andrew Cheesbrough, chief executive of OSJCT said, “All of our employees work extremely hard all year round, and honouring those that have really stood out during 2014 is a tremendous honour. The selfless individuals that form our care teams across the county are the backbone of the Trust, and without them, we wouldn’t be able to provide the high-quality, person-centred care we pride ourselves on delivering to our residents. Our chairman’s Commendation Awards are our way of recognising the hard work and dedication of our employees, allowing us to shine the spotlight on our very own stars.“
