A By-election has been called to fill a councillor vacancy on Melksham Town Council in Melksham South Ward, following the resignation of Cllr Jon Hubbard in July.
Friday 12th September, with the poll expected to take place on Tuesday 9th October.
The by-election follows the resignation of Cllr Jon Hubbard, who was first elected as a Melksham town councillor in 2008. He is a former mayor and served on the town council for 17 years.
He resigned on 17th July, citing ongoing concerns about poor governance, financial mismanagement and a lack of effective oversight within Melksham Town Council.
Nomination papers must be hand-delivered to the Returning Officer, or their appointed staff at Electoral Services, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN, on working days from Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Friday 12th September.
