THE November meeting of Atworth Camera Club held on the 25th, was a members’ evening, which provided an opportunity to show their best images of 2019, along with a further opportunity to show “water” themed images.
The club report, “Bridget Sawyer started the session by showing an audio-visual presentation she had created which featured pictures taken around Bath, and some others from Mottisfont Abbey.
“This was followed by other members who showed a wide variety of subjects including images taken around Atworth and Corsham, images of waterfalls, fountains and raindrops, a gondolier in Venice, Blackheath fireworks, a series of portraits, some pictures from a recent Jane Austen parade in Bath, the north Devon coast, family pets, travels in Western Australia, South Devon, Madeira and Tenerife, and a glacier in the Arctic.
“The evening was concluded by Jim Marsden with more images from the recent Jane Austen parade including marching soldiers, and some spectacular shots of racehorses taken from within the fence the horses were jumping over.
“Our next project is “architecture”. The winter months, with fog and drizzle, provide much lower light contrast, which helps with photographs of the interiors of buildings.
“Our next meeting will be on Monday 27th January, when Jim will continue his “Looking for Pictures” talk that he started at our October meeting.
“The club’s meetings are held on the last Monday of each month at 7.30pm in Atworth Village Hall. There is no formal membership and meetings are open to all, with a fee of just £2, refreshments included.”
