WILTSHIRE Council has confirmed its intention to keep part of the Melksham House site, intended for the campus development, as an open space for the community, following an enquiry from Melksham News.
Plans for the campus were unveiled by Wiltshire Council at a meeting of Melksham Area Board last October and since then, two more revised plans have been released – the latest just last month.
However, questions have since been raised about the land to the rear of the proposed campus next to the cricket pitch that has remained unmarked for use since the second version of the design was presented in June.
Some locals had expressed fears that the land could be used for housing in the future, but Wiltshire Council has allayed these fears in a response to Melksham News. Approached by us to comment, a Wiltshire Council spokesperson said, “We intend to keep this land as open space for the local community to use.”
