LOCAL group, the Bowerhill Barkers, are appealing for help as they prepare for their next big fundraising event in November to raise money for Guide Dogs Southampton.
Group member Caroline Fielding said, “The event will have musicians playing throughout the day, a raffle, chocolate tombola, regular tombola, water or wine stall and local artisans selling their wares. Santa will be there with his elf helpers.
“To help make the event a success we need donations of items, gift tokens and services from anyone willing to support us.”
The group has set themselves a fundraising target of £55,000 – the lifetime cost of a guide dog – to enable them to name and sponsor a guide dog. So far they have raised over £3,000.
The fundraiser will take place on Saturday 17th November at Bowerhill Village Hall. Before the event, the group will launch an online auction from Thursday 1st November until Sunday 25th November.
