THE Royal British Legion in Melksham will be launching this year’s Poppy Appeal next week, and is looking for volunteers to help.
Volunteers are needed to help man tables at local supermarkets Asda and Lidl, from Monday 2nd November to Tuesday 10th November. Boxes of poppies and collection tins will also be available in a number of shops across the town and local area.
This year’s Poppy Appeal has had to be scaled back to ensure that Covid-19 regulations and guidelines are being followed.
Poppy Appeal organiser, Trevor Paterson said, “Most important is that we observe all the rules and restrictions to prevent the spread of coronavirus – whilst still raising money for servicemen and women affected by past and current conflicts.”
If there is anyone who would like to assist this year, please contact Trevor Paterson on 07884 050097 or e-mail: trevorpaterson747@ hotmail.com
