THE latest rock & roll night from the Melksham Rock ‘n’ Roll Club will feature The Revolutionaires from County Durham this Saturday, 25th May.
It’s a change of band from the Bill Hayley tribute Phil Hayley & His Comments who were due to appear.
“The Revolutionaires have been to the club a few times, the first time being during 2009, and are one of the best rhythm & blues/rock ‘n’ roll bands in the country and Europe,” said promoter Geoff Mitcham. “They are extremely popular but they don’t appear in this part of the country very often, so this is a rare opportunity to see them.
“Saturday 25th May was supposed to be Bill Hayley tribute Phil Hayley & His Comments but due to a mix up and a hacked account, they got double booked and are instead playing in St Ives so there was a panic to get a replacement band.
“I put out a plea on Facebook and was inundated with suggestions but one stood out – from Ed Stephenson, the singer/guitarist of The Revolutionaires.
“As for Phil Hayley & His Comments, they are rebooked for December 2026 so there will be another chance to “Rock Around The Clock then!”
The Revolutionaires are appearing on Saturday 25th May at Melksham Assembly Hall. Tickets are £12 available on the door or in advance from Melksham Town Hall and Melksham Tourist information Centre in Church Street.
