A GARDEN party held by the Viveash family last month raised £1,700 for the RUH Cancer Appeal.
The event was organised by couple Bev and John in memory of their daughter Nicola, who died from cancer in March 2013 age 28.
The couple said, “The party was well attended, raising approximately £1,700, despite mixed weather conditions – including torrential rain at times! Our supporters enjoyed bacon rolls, burgers, hot dogs, teas, coffees, and a vast array of homemade cakes.
“Thanks to individuals and local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle and tombola, both of which were very busy all day. Many thanks to family and friends who helped us out on the day as it is not possible to hold this type of event without your help.
“Quizzes are still available (from Bev), call 07867 757697 or email: bev_ viveash@yahoo.co.uk; the price to enter is £1.50 each, and the closing date is 13th August. The prize is a £50 voucher kindly donated by the Westbrook Inn.”
