DON’T miss out on this year’s Melksham Seniors Christmas Party, as well as their regular weekly and monthly social events.
Join the Melksham and District Seniors for their annual Christmas party on Monday 17th December from 1pm-4pm.
Chairman, Jim Law says, “Here we go again I’m sure Christmas never used to come around this quick as it does now. Our Christmas party is coming very soon. Instead of a film, our party is there for you on the 17th of December at the Assembly Hall, 1pm til 4pm.
“With a big thank you to Asda for their very kind donation, it makes it a lot easier for us to give you the best time, and help us to alleviate loneliness and isolation.
“Tickets are selling very fast, please don’t leave it too late to get yours, at only £5 from the Tourist Information Centre, or our Thursday morning social gathering.
“Our friend Lisa from Asda will be there to assist us in helping to get the party off to a great start. At 1.15pm approx, the schoolchildren will sing carols. Then Father Christmas will give all the children presents. Mr Dave Dean will entertain us, there’s a cold buffet, soft drinks only, although if you wish I believe the bar is open. Then if that wasn’t enough, we have a great raffle for you to win some very good prizes.
“From all of us on the committee we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. Thank you all of you that has supported us through the year. Hope more will join us in the New Year.”

Also, once a month on the first Monday of the month, the Seniors meet at Forest Community Centre to enjoy a wide range of outdoor and indoor games and activities that not only help to improve health, but also plenty of laughs.
Every Thursday, the Melksham Seniors Activity & Social Club meet at the Riverside Club from 10.30am to 12.15pm.
The weekly Thursday morning activities include a great favourite “Smile and Sing along” under the leadership of Sue Stone. Then on alternate weeks they have Clare Webber, well-known locally for her excellent happy classes of balance, mobility, strength and stretch exercises for the more mature. They are always great fun and often pretty hilarious as the oldies swing along to great music.
Jim says, “It is a good two hours of socialising, a cup of tea or coffee, chocolate biscuits, or just ordinary biscuits all sorts, a raffle, plus games if you want to play, we really do have a fun two hours.”
